Climpact network has produced and offers freely a series of datasets about climate change

Publication: 29-01-2021
The dataset includes daily meteorological parameters for the period 2010-2023 from 54 meteorological stations. You can see visualizations of the data from these stations on the page https://www.meteo.gr/climate/ The parameters are temperature (°C), relative humidity (%), pressure (hPa), rainfall (mm), wind speed (km/h), dominant wind direction, and wind gust (km/h). The measurements come from the network of automatic meteorological stations of the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr. Information about the stations and any malfunctions are prov...

Collection of paleoclimate proxy data, to create spatio-temporal paleoclimate restoration fields, with the aim of understanding mechanisms of significant climate changes in the last 2,000 years. Nar Lake δ18O data (Jones et al. 2006) provide indirect information on the amount of precipitation through the precipitation-evaporation balance. The Ti (cps) record of Lake Neor (Sharifi et al. 2015) determines the aeolian input to the regional peatland of Lake Neor that increases during dry periods. The high-resolution Ti/Ca record of the stratified coastal lake ...

One of the objectives of Action 2.1 "Data from aquatic (marine and terrestrial) ecosystems related to climate change" was to propose a management protocol of harmful algal blooms (HABs) in order to protect public health from exposure to the risk of cyanotoxins. Cyanotoxins released into lake water by toxic cyanobacteria are a large group of compounds with diverse physicochemical properties, chemical structures and toxic effects (hepatotoxic, neurotoxic, dermatotoxic, cytotoxic). International organizations such as WHO, US EPA and the Global Water Research ...

In the framework of Action 2.1 "Data from aquatic (marine and terrestrial) ecosystems related to climate change", the Photo-Catalytic Processes and Environmental Chemistry group of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the National Centre for Scientific Research "Demokritos", focused on the study of the history of harmful algal blooms in aquatic ecosystems of Greece. One of the effects of climate change is the more frequent occurrence of harmful algal blooms in surface waters, which are mainly favored by the global warming, the eutrophicatio...

Hourly values of hydrological data in the area of Antikythira strait, produced by a marine mooring deployed by HCMR. The monitoring instruments have been positioned at two depths: a) Close to the bottom (approximately 895 m) and b) At intermediate depth (325 m). The mooring site is found at latitude 35ο 36.8 N and longitude 23o 32.3 E.

The files include daily observations of total ozone (DU), AOT at 1020 nm, water column (at 936 nm) and solar irradiance at 305 nm, 312 nm, 320 nm, 936 nm and 1020 nm (W/m2). Observations were made with the spectrophotometer MICROTOPS II by the Climate Research Group, Section of Environmental Physics and Meteorology, Faculty of Physics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Validation of the data is needed for their proper use.
