Climpact network has produced and offers freely a series of datasets about climate change

Publication: 29-01-2021
The dataset includes daily meteorological parameters for the period 2010-2023 from 54 meteorological stations. You can see visualizations of the data from these stations on the page https://www.meteo.gr/climate/ The parameters are temperature (°C), relative humidity (%), pressure (hPa), rainfall (mm), wind speed (km/h), dominant wind direction, and wind gust (km/h). The measurements come from the network of automatic meteorological stations of the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr. Information about the stations and any malfunctions are prov...

Hourly values of meteorological data from the Finokalia station of the Laboratory of Environmental Chemical Processes (ECPL) of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Crete. The data contains wind speed in m/s, direction in o, temperature in oC, relative humidity in %, total solar radiation in w/m2, pressure in hPa and precipitation height in mm.
Publication: 16-03-2022
The files include daily observations of total ozone (DU), AOT at 1020 nm, water column (at 936 nm) and solar irradiance at 305 nm, 312 nm, 320 nm, 936 nm and 1020 nm (W/m2). Observations were made with the spectrophotometer MICROTOPS II by the Climate Research Group, Section of Environmental Physics and Meteorology, Faculty of Physics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Validation of the data is needed for their proper use.

Time-series of daily discharge of the 16 largest Greek rivers.
Publication: 13-10-2022
The files include daily observations of mean, maximum and minimum air temperature, mean daily values of relative humidity and daily precipitation amount since 1901 in Athens. The data are derived from the historical climatic station of the National Observatory of Athens (the oldest climatic station of Greece). The station has been permanently established atT hissio, on the small Hill of Nymphs (latitude: 37.972 N, longitude: 23.717 E, altitude: 107 m above MSL) near the centre of Athens since the late 19th century, without relocations over the years. The ...

The file includes annual count of days of extreme temperature and precipitation using the indices Tropical Nights (TN): annual count of days when Tmin > 20 oC Tropical Days (TD): annual count of days when Tmax > 30 oC Summer Days (SD): annual count of days when Tmax > 25 oC Hot Days (TD): annual count of days when Tmax > 35 oC Frost Days (FD): annual count of days when Tmin < 0oC Wet Days (WD): annual count of days with rainfall R > 1mm Heavy Rainfall (R30): annual count of days with rainfall R > 30mm Very heavy Rainfall (R40): annual count of da...

Time series of warm spell events using climate indices (1961-2021) for the cities of Athens and Larissa. Data include the first and the last day of each warm spell, and aggregate statistics about its intensity. Warm spell days were detected using the climate indices CTX90pct and CTX95pct. According to the climate index CTX90pct [(Perkins & Alexander 2013)](https://doi.org/10.1175/JCLI-D-12-00383.1), a warm spell event occurs when the maximum temperature exceeds for at least 3 consecutive days its 90th percentile for the base period. The 90th percentile ...
